Hello all:

I belong to an Australian Pauline group and have been overseas as a lay missionary with them but I was very shocked with their last newsletter. It is full of:

  • Creation Spirituality
  • Matthew Fox
  • Catholic Homosexuals
  • etc.

I do not know what I can do. I don't know who to complain to (apart from Jesus). I thought Matthew Fox was excommunicated.

  • How does the Church view Creation Spirituality?

I feel so shocked. I feel speechless; I feel angry too. I was so shocked when I started checking the suggested web sites and I came to what I think is a blasphemous remake of the Last Supper on a pro-Homosexual (catholic) site. I mean, they sent this to us and our kids!

  • What can I do?

God bless,

Perry

  { What should I do when I found content on Matthew Fox and Creation Spirituality in my group's newsletter? }

Ann Jones, one of our Grammarian colleagues, replied:

Quoting from Matthew Fox's own web site:

"Matthew Fox is a spiritual theologian who has been an ordained priest since 1967. He holds Masters degrees in philosophy and theology from Aquinas Institute and a Doctorate in spirituality, summa cum laude, from the Institute Catholiques de Paris. A liberation theologian and progressive visionary, he was silenced by the Vatican and later dismissed from the Dominican order. After dismissal he was received as an Episcopal priest by Bishop William Swing of the Diocese of California. Fox is the founder and president of the University Creation Spirituality (UCS) located in downtown Oakland, California."

I would suggest that you bring this to the attention of your priest or bishop. If they are in agreement with Mr. Fox's theology, then they are not in agreement with the Pope!

Keep going over their heads, as far as need be, to bring this matter to someone's attention . . . before many more folks are misled.
