Hi, guys —

I have three questions:

  1. Do we, as Catholics, believe in the three days of darkness?

I see a lot of stuff on the internet about it, with many Fundamentalists trying to predict the End.

  1. Do Catholics believe in predicting the date for the End of the world?

I found this Catholic site "Catholic Planet".

  1. Can you please check it and tell me if it is a truly Catholic site?

Not as a matter of faith. You're free to believe it or not, but I'd advise against getting too worked up about it, or getting overly focused on End-times scenarios. Our call is to live out the Gospel each day as if it were our last, whether that's by death or Second Coming.

Nobody should be predicting a date, for as Jesus says:

"No one knows the day or the hour."  (Matthew 24:36)

The End of the world for you, for all intents and purposes, is tomorrow. Your obligation is to be ready for it.

I wouldn't give the site any credence. In fact, I'd avoid it. When Catholic Culture was doing web site reviews, I wasn't impressed with their ranking.
